Abstract
In this work, the FCC --> HCP martensitic transformation was investigated d uring isothermal aging at 850 degreesC in an as-cast Co-base alloy. It was found that the transformation kinetics exhibited a sigmoidal behavior as ev idenced by the determinations of epsilon -martensite vs. time, which in tur n indicated a thermally activated nucleation process.
