This research employed diffusion of innovations theory to contrast thr
ee different preventive health interventions by their innovation attri
butes. The authors gathered self-report data from organizational membe
rs within a new organizational form, the contractual network of the Ca
ncer Information Service, a geographically dispersed federal governmen
t health information program. Innovation attributes were rate differen
tially, depending on the nature of the specific intervention, suggesti
ng important theoretical and policy implications.
