Abstract
The kinetics of Basic Red 18 and Acid Blue 9 sorption onto activated clay h ave been investigated. A batch sorption model, based on the assumption of a pseudo-second order mechanism, has been developed to predict the rate cons tant of sorption, the equilibrium sorption capacity, and initial sorption r ate with the effect of initial dye concentration, activated clay particle s ize, temperature, and pH value. In addition, an activation energy of sorpti on has also been determined based on the pseudo-second order rate constants .
