Abstract
The dependence of the chemical composition and grain growth on the depositi on potential of CdTe films on stainless steel substrates has been investiga ted. The preliminary analysis using XRD, EPMA and AUGER techniques show tha t the preferential orientation of the CdTe grains and the percentage compos ition of the film depend on the potential applied between the reference ele ctrode and the stainless steel substrate. It is possible to control the com position of the electrodeposited CdTe films by properly adjusting the depos ition potential. AUGER analysis revealed the presence of oxygen throughout the thickness of the film. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserv ed.
