W. Rivera et A. Xicale, Heat transfer coefficients in two phase flow for the water/lithium bromidemixture used in solar absorption refrigeration systems, SOL EN MAT, 70(3), 2001, pp. 309-320
This paper describes the experimental results obtained from the heat transf
er in saturated nucleate boiling for the water/lithium bromide mixture flow
ing upward in a uniformly heated vertical tube, which is the generator of a
solar absorption refrigeration system. The concentration range for the mix
ture was from 48 to 56 wt.% Plots of local and average heat transfer coeffi
cients are shown against solution concentration, heat flux and the temperat
ure difference between the wall tube and the fluid. It was observed that th
e average heat transfer coefficients increased for the mixture with an incr
ease of the heat flux and with the decrease of the solution concentration a
nd the temperature difference. The average heat transfer coefficients varie
d from 1.0 to 4.0 kW/m(2) degreesC. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All righ
