Abstract
Reaction of 1-N-alkyl triazoles with an alkyl radical generated from the co rresponding carboxylic acid, affords the triazole ring alkylated selectivel y in the 5 position. Secondary radicals perform best in the intermolecular reaction, while primary radicals alkylate the triazole in an intramolecular fashion. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
