Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C2O4)-(C10H8N2)](n), is re
ported. The Cu-II atom is six-coordinated with distorted octahedral geometr
y and the bipyridine ligand acts as a chelating ligand. The oxalate anion b
ridges the metal ions forming infinite chains.
