Abstract
A method for measuring the spatial variation of the macroscopic poling stat e of a piezoelectric material using an ultrasonic transducer is described. The relatively simple method clearly indicates the distribution of poling w ithin the material, demonstrated by the testing of a collection of partiall y poled lead zirconate titanate samples.
