Abstract
A 2D (plane strain) finite element model of the flat-rolling process i s presented, the model being based on the flow formulation and the pse udo-concentrations technique and incorporating state-of-the-art Comput ational Mechanics tools. Many rolling situations are investigated usin g the model, some of them corresponding to symmetrical conditions and some to asymmetric conditions. The correction to slipping situations a nd bending of the rolled plate are demonstrated using the model. (C) 1 996 Elsevier Science S.A.
