Vn. Selivanov, THE ELECTROCHEMICAL REDUCTION RATE OF COLLOIDAL PARTICLES OF SILVER-HALIDES AS A FUNCTION OF THE ELECTROLYTE-COMPOSITION, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 33(7), 1997, pp. 744-749
The limiting current densities pertaining to reduction of colloids are
studied as a function of the following parameters: (1) concentration
of colloidal particles of silver halides, (2) electrolyte composition,
and (3) sign of the charge of the electrode and the colloids. The lim
iting current densities of reduction of positively charged colloidal p
articles are found to be 3 to 4 times the limiting current densities o
f diffusion of silver ions. The limiting current density of reduction
of colloids is shown to be limited by the rates of their electrophoret
ic transport and diffusion.
