Abstract
The selective photocatalytic reduction of 1-nitrophenol to 4-aminophen ol in titanium dioxide suspensions prepared in aliphatic alcohols (met hanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, i-butanol) was inve stigated. The photoreduction rate is significantly affected by the sol vent parameters, such as viscosity, polarity, polarisability, and pola rity/polarisability. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
