Abstract
A dispersion- and polarisation-insensitive all-optical method for transmitt ing and extracting a subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) signal using a fibre Brag g grating filter without a conventional SCM circuitry is demonstrated. Fibr e transmission experiments conducted on standard singlemode fibres of varyi ng lengths up to 80 kin showed excellent sensitivity with no apparent fadin g effects.
