Cj. Lin et al., The effect of changing the foot progression angle on the knee adduction moment in normal teenagers, GAIT POSTUR, 14(2), 2001, pp. 85-91
The effect of changing the foot progression angle on the peak knee adductio
n moment (KAM) during stance was investigated in 48 teenagers. They underwe
nt gait analysis when walking in three different postures: normal walking,
intentional in-toeing, and intentional out-toeing. The peak KAM when in-toe
ing was the highest and was statistically different from that seen in the n
ormal walking or in the out-toeing posture. These findings may have clinica
l significance in adult life. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res
