H. Ogiwara et al., Quasiresonant soft switching PWM voltage-fed high frequency inverter usingSIT for induction heating applications, IEE P-EL PO, 148(5), 2001, pp. 385-392
This paper presents a novel quasiresonant high frequency inverter at a fixe
d frequency of 200 kHz using static induction transistors (SITs) as power s
emiconductor switches. It is designed to operate under zero-volt switching
to minimise switching losses, electrical stresses and EMI noises over a wid
e range of regulated output power. Its output power can be regulated effect
ively by adjusting the duty cycle of the switching signals fed to the activ
e switches. Its circuit operation and performance are analysed by computer-
aided simulation, The simulation results are in good agreement with experim
ental ones obtained from a feasible breadboard. As a result, it is finding
wide industrial applications, especially for induction heating.
