Abstract
1,3-Diarylprop-2-en-1-ones on condensation with phenylhydrazines in AcOH, y ielded 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolines which undergo smooth transformation to the corresponding pyrazoles upon treatment with idobenzene diacetate (I BD) in better yield as compared to bromine which does not yield clean produ cts. The compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity.
