Three ant-like salticid genera, Enoplomischus Giltay, Kima Peckham & Peckha
m and Leptorchestes Thorell are revised. Kima is removed from the synonymy
of Leptorchestes and revalidated. Three new species are described: Kima mon
tana, Leptorchestes algerinus and L. separatus. Two specific names are syno
nymised: Enoplomischus chattoni Berland & Millet = E. ghesquieri Giltay and
Leptorchestes halogena Metzner = L. mutilloides (Lucas). One new combinati
on is proposed (K. reimoseri ex L. reimoseri). A lectotype for L. peresi is
designated. L. semirufus Simon is regarded as nomen dubium. Identification
keys are provided. A comparison of morphological features of the three gen
era indicates that Kima and Leptorchestes are more closely related to each
other than either of them is to Enoplomischus. However, it seems still just
ified to place all three genera in the subfamily Leptorchestinae (sensu Sim
on 1901).
