Abstract
This comparative study presents the determination of flavonoids from P assiflora incarnata and sesquiterpenes from Valeriana officinalis in p harmaceutical preparations, Several liquid and solid commercial prepar ations containing extracts of these and possibly one other plant were investigated, The quantitative determination of flavonoids and sesquit erpenes was performed by two HPLC-methods, suitable for routine analys is, The determination of liquid formulations detected 0.31-5.81 mg fla vonoids and 0.03-0.86 mg sesquiterpenes per 1 g of the sample while th e solid dosage forms contained 0.64-5.36 mg flavonoids and 0.16-1.85 m g sesquiterpenes per unit.
