The system of ordinary differential equations is derived for the self-consi
stent potential and pair radial distribution function of a simple classical
liquid, for which the pair potential energy of "bare" particles is the sum
of Yukawa potentials accounting for the repulsion at small distances and a
ttraction at large distances. The number of parameters in the interaction p
otential is large enough for the interatomic interaction to be approximated
in real fluids. The model suggested accounts for the vapor-liquid phase tr
ansition at the condensation curve on the temperature-concentration coordin
ates. (C) 2001 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
