Abstract
The effect of alpha-, beta- and gamma -cyclodextrin on the photochemical st ability of 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (C120) was studied. Using spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence, fluorescence ani sotropy and circular dichroism) combined with HPLC/MS and MS analysis it wa s demonstrated that addition of beta -cyclodextrin to the aqueous solution of C120 markedly inhibits the photodegradation of that dye. This results fr om the formation of an inclusion complex between C120 and beta -cyclodextri n.
