Abstract
Perborate oxidation of hexacyanoferrate(II) is catalyzed by mercury(II ) and the catalyzed oxidation is first order each in the oxidant, redu ctant and catalyst. The oxidation is independent of pH (4.7-7.0) of th e medium. Kinetic results suggest mercury(II) peroxide as the oxidizin g species.
