Abstract
Output results are presented for a shielded MR head reading from a double-l ayer, perpendicular medium. The integrals required for an exact Fourier sol ution are given as rapidly convergent series. An approximation is used to p rovide accurate PW50 and D-50 results over a wide range of practical head d imensions. Simple, approximate PW50 and D-50 formulae are derived and their range of validity discussed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res erved.
