Abstract
This paper characterizes those nonnegative functions psi defined on [0, 1]
for which the weighted Hardy-Littlewood average U-psi : f --> integral (1)(
0) f(t.)psi (t) dt is bounded on either L-p(R-n), p epsilon [1, infinity],
or BMO(R-n). Meanwhile, the corresponding operator norms are worked out. (C
