Abstract
H-1, Li-7, and Al-27 NMR was used to study [LiAl2(OH)(6)]Cl . xH(2)O system s (x = 0, 1.6, and 2.8). At larger x values, the amplitude of the libration al motion of the hydroxyl groups increases and the chloride ions are disord ered, while the localization of the lithium and aluminum ions does not chan ge.
