Abstract
The significance of electrochemical noise measurements in cells containing two identical electrodes kept at the same potential has been clearly establ ished. However, when the electrodes are of different materials or when a bi as voltage is applied between them, it is not clear what information the me asurement of the noise impedance yields. The purpose of this paper is to de velop the theory of asymmetric cell measurements, and to compare the predic tions of the model with experimental results obtained for four asymmetric s ystems.
