Butadiene copolymers with functional groups and channel carbon black K-354
have been investigated. Rubber compound based on styrene butadiene rubber S
KMS-30ARKM filled with 55 phr combination of furnace carbon black (N 550 ty
pe) and K-354 was used. Tire cord was dipped with resorcinol formaldehyde l
atex adhesives based on above copolymers. The K-354 content increase In the
rubber compound leads to the increase of the bond strength of rubber to co
rd which was dipped with adhesives based on copolymers with pyridine and am
ino groups In macromolecules. The K-354 incorporating in above adhesives le
ads to the adhesive films mechanical properties improvement but doesn't inf
luence the bond strength. These results showed the possibility of the inter
action of pyridine and amino groups in copolymers with K-354. Model systems
copolymer - K-354 were investigated. The Swelling degree of these systems
in the different solvents and the intensity (I) of the copolymer - K-354 in
teraction were determined. I was evaluated by the difference I = (1/S-f)-(1
/S-o), where S-f is the swelling degree of the filled sample and S. Is the
same one of the unfilled sample. Solvents were used which selectively destr
oyed the copolymer - K-354 bonds of different types. It was shown that pyri
dine and amino groups of copolymers form strong bonds with chinone groups o
f K-354, apparently of betaine type. The obtained results open a possibilit
y of improving rubber composites mechanical and adhesion properties.
