Abstract
Ti-6Al-4V/hydroxyapatite composites have recently been developed as coating s on biomedical implants. The as-sprayed coatings are usually thermally tre ated in order to induce crystallization. We aim to investigate what phase c hanges take place during such a thermal process. In addition, the temperatu re, activation energy and enthalpy with respect to the phase changes are st udied.
