Abstract
In this paper, a novel optical switch OCDSN (optical code-division switchin g network) using the simultaneous capacity of the prime code is proposed. S electing the prime code in accordance with transmission routing forms the b asis of this three-layer network architecture. This network code switching provides one-to-one, multicast, and broadcast characteristics. The optimal connection methods and modularized design are proposed. From mathematical a nalysis, we see that the optical nodes of the OCDSN are less complex than O megas. And the optical nodes of the modularized P-3 OCDSN are almost half i n member as compared to the P-5 OCDSNs tender the same input port condition s. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
