Abstract
Trimethylsilylation of alcohols and phenols is carried out using hexamethyl disilazane and LiClO4 under microwave irradiation and neutral conditions. T he deprotection of silyl ethers is carried out similarly using natural kaol initic clay and a few drops of water.
