Abstract
Onset field H-on of the second peak in the magnetization curve of Bi1.7Pb0. 3Sr2CaCu2Ov crystals with various oxygen concentration gamma, is measured u sing a miniature Hall sensor on thin ring-shaped samples as well as square samples. Systematic change in H-on depending on gamma is qualitatively expl ained with a few assumptions based on the disorder-induced vortex-matter tr ansition. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
