We report measurements for two-body charmless hadronic B decays with an eta
' meson in the final state. Using 11.1 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collec
ted with the Belle detector, we find BF(B+ --> eta 'K+) = (79(-11)(+12) +/-
9) X 10(-6) and BF(B-0 --> eta 'K-0) = (55(-16)(+19) +/- 8) X 10(-6), wher
e the first and second errors are statistical and systematic, respectively.
No signal is observed in the mode B+ q'7r+, and we set a90% confidence lev
el upper limit of BF(B+ - q'7r+) < 7 x 10-6. The CP asymmetry in B-<plus/mi
nus> --> eta 'K+/- decays is investigated and a limit at 90% confidence lev
el of -0.20 < A(CP) < 0.32 is obtained. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All
