This paper provides a brief overview of some of the digitisation projects c
urrently or recently undertaken at Durham University Library. The projects
cover the rang of the ce collection and include: digitising past examinatio
n papers, an electronic reserve pilot project, digitising photographs and d
igitisation of pre-Ordnance Survey maps and topographical prints. The fundi
ng, technical base, standards used, progress and deliverables from the proj
ects are described. A number of broader issues which have arisen are descri
bed.
