NEW OR DEVELOPING ANTIHYPERTENSIVE AGENTS

Although significant pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic advances in tr eating hypertension during the last decade have reduced mortality and morbidity, hypertension continues to be a major health concern worldwi de. Therefore, the search continues for newer specific pharmacologic t reatment of this disorder. This review focuses on pharmacologic agents or classes of agents either recently approved or under clinical devel opment for the treatment of hypertension.
