Cv. Naidu et G. Rajendrudu, Influence of kinetin and nitrogenous salts on seed germination of red sanders (Pterocarpus santalinus Linn.f.), SEED SCI T, 29(3), 2001, pp. 669-672
The effect of different periods (10-50 hrs) of soaking at different concent
rations (100-500 ppm) of kinetin and nitrogenous salts on the germination o
f pods of Pterocarpus santalinus (red sanders) was studied. Generally 400 p
pm resulted in the maximum percentage of germination in all imbibition peri
ods except soaking of pods for 10 hrs at 500 ppm of kinetin which resulted
in highest germination (80%). However, the germination percentage was decre
ased with increased duration of soaking at 500 ppm concentration.
