Abstract
The ligand 2,7-diazapyrene (L) is used to construct three- and two-dim ensional arrays with Cu-I and Ag-I ions: {[(CuL2)-L-I]PF6}(infinity) s hows an adamantoid network with three interpenetrating networks, while {[(AgL2)-L-I(MeCN)(2)]BF4}(infinity) forms linear chains of [AgL](inf inity) units linked by apparent pi-pi stacking and Ag ... Ag interacti ons between adjacent diazapyrene ligands to form two-dimensional sheet s.
