Symptoms of Meckel's diverticulum (MD) are present in only 4% of all cases
and are often aspecific. The diagnostic modalities for the distal ileum are
also often ineffective. We report herein two cases of MD's complications,
intestinal obstruction and diverticulitis, which were managed laparoscopica
lly. In both cases laparoscopy allowed the physician not only to make an ac
curate diagnosis but, at the same time, to perform a tangential resection o
f the MD.
