Abstract
A gasdynamic model is proposed to describe the phase separation in heteroge neous systems of immiscible components under the action of scanning laser p ulses in the channeled penetration mode. The model takes into account the m otion of immiscible components in vortex flows of the melt under the action of centrifugal forces. The characteristic time of the process development and the size of separated microparticles are estimated. The analytical cond itions for the appearance of the concentration separation are determined. ( C) 2001 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
