Abstract
Treatment of kinetically stabilized phosphaalkynes 5 in toluene with primar y amines 4 in the presence of equimolar amounts of cyclopentadienyltitanium trichloride (2) leads to azaphosphatitanacyclobutane species 6. The formati on of compounds 6 enables a first insight into the mechanism of the reactio n of titanium imides with phosphaalkynes, presented in several recent paper s. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
