Abstract
The phosphaalkynes RC = P [R = l-adamantyl (la) or R = 2-methylcyclohe xyl (Ib)] react with dimesitylsilylene, presumably by [2+1] cycloaddit ion followed by silylene insertion, to furnish phosphadisilacyclobuten es; the molecular structure of the adamantyl derivative was determined by X-ray crystallography.
