Prior Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction (TM) studies have demonstrated that routine coronary angiography should not be performed in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarctions treated with thrombolytic therapy. An analysis of patients from the TIMI 10B and TIMI 14 trials with acute myocardial infarctions treated with various pharmacologic regimens a nd subsequent early percutaneous revascularization challenges these finding s.
