Abstract
We measured the second-harmonic signal generated by high-quality zinc oxide single crystals. Comparing this signal with that generated by single-cryst al quartz, used as a standard, we found that the components of the second-o rder susceptibility tensor differ somewhat from the values reported earlier . Measurements of two zinc oxide single crystals with different orientation s yield similar results. (C) 2001 Optical Society of America.
