Experience with difficult keloids

A large number of treatment modalities have been used to treat keloid scars , with varying degrees of success. A modified combination therapy consistin g of cryotherapy and intralesional triamcinolone injection has given good r esults in 43 patients, with complete resolution in 28% and significant impr ovement in 44%. We find it particularly useful for treating recurrent and/o r difficult keloids. (C) 2001 The British Association of Plastic Surgeons.
