Abstract
Knowledge of the human genome and other genomes, the selection of health-be neficial components, information and communication technology (ICT)-driven plant cultivation and small-scale processes will together change the agrofo ods business from a rather low-tech to a high-tech (functional) foods busin ess. ICT will provide consumers with information that in combination with t heir private genetic passport may be used to select those functional foods that are most beneficial for them.
