Abstract
The fragment approximation is used for the description of the layered cuprate structures. Tile characteristic structural features are distin guished which genetically relate all the layered cuprates. The classif ication scheme for tile whole family of layered cuprates is analyzed i n tile fragment approximation and a possible extension of tile scheme is discussed.
