Abstract
The fabrication process of thermoplastic composites using hybrid fabrics co mposed of yarns made from glass and PA6 fibres as prepregs is presented. Th e influence of the structure of hybrid yarns produced by employing commingl ed, texturing, twisting and friction-spinning technologies on the mechanica l properties of composites is discussed, The results of the investigation i ndicate that the best tensile and bending properties of composites were ach ieved while using fabrics made from textured yarns produced under optimal c onditions, which should ensure a minimum destruction of filaments during th e blending process.
