The third osmotic virial coefficient, A(3), Of chain molecules confine
d to simple cubic, face-centered cubic, and diamond lattices was deter
mined by Monte Carlo methods. The data of each model appear to follow
the same power law with an exponent in accordance with scaling predict
ions. The ratio A(3)/(nA(2)(2)) for long chains turns out to be univer
sal and is near 0.30.
