B. Strauss et al., Who, what, when, where, how? - Minimal requierements for the publication of group psychotherapy related research results, GRUPPENPSYC, 37(3), 2001, pp. 207-213
Group psychotherapy is still an important field within psychotherapy resear
ch. Reviews and metaanalyses demonstrate the effectiveness of group treatme
nts for a variety of disorders. Attempts to summarize the research results
often are impeded by the fact that important informations to evaluate singl
e studies are missing in the publications. Based upon this observation this
article tries to summarize minimal requirements for the publication of res
earch results related to group therapy. These focus on the patients treated
within the studies, the therapists, the treatment concept, group character
istics, as well as methodology. If these minimal requirements could be esta
blished.
