We focus our attention on the plasma-edge-like dispersion of the reflectanc
e spectra of the selected bis(ethylenodithio)-etrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF)-
derived organic conductors. The standard procedure to determine the electro
n transport parameters in low-dimensional organic conductors consists of fi
tting the appropriate theoretical models with the experimental reflectance
data. This procedure provides us with basic information like plasma frequen
cy, the optical effective mass of charge carriers, their number, mean free
path and damping constant. Therefore, it is concluded that the spectroscopy
is a powerful tool to study the electronic processes in conducting organic
solids. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science BN. All rights reserved.
