Lg. Chen et al., Effect of heat transfer law on the performance of a generalized irreversible carnot refrigerator, J NON-EQU T, 26(3), 2001, pp. 291-304
The sole irreversibility considered in an endoreversible Carnot refrigerato
r model is the loss of heat resistance between the refrigerator and its sur
rounding heat reservoirs. This paper presents a generalized irreversible Ca
rnot refrigerator model by taking into account several additional internal
irreversibilities of the refrigerator, such as heat leakage, friction, turb
ulence and other undesirable factors. This is done by means of a constant p
arameter and a constant coefficient, together with the loss of heat resista
nce. The relation between optimal cooling load and coefficient of performan
ce (COP) is derived based on a generalized heat transfer law Q proportional
to Delta (T-n). The effect of heat leakage, internal irreversibility, and
heat transfer law on the optimal performance of the generalized irreversibl
e Carnot refrigerator is investigated.
