Arrayed helical antennas (AHA) for personal telephone handsets have been de
veloped for both low-SAR and omnidirectional radiation patterns, where the
AHA has two helical antennas along the direction of the width on the top of
personal telephones. A comparison of the SAR value between the AHA and a c
onventional helical antenna (CHA) demonstrates that the SAR value of the AR
A is 35% less than that of the CHA. Good performance of the radiation patte
rns and the VSWR of the AHA are also shown by using the experimental measur
