Abstract
This package is intended as a computational tool that will make mathematica l experimentation and applications of Finsler and higher geometries easier, through the explicit derivation of some of its main objects, such as curva tures, simplified and presented in the usual way. The package is written in Maple, and consists of 3 modules: interface, data structure and engine. Th e interface is friendly, allowing the user to start computation either from a metric function or from the connection, for non-metric spaces. The data- structure is robust enough to allow future developments of the present pack age to include more general spaces. The engine consists of the procedures t hat performs the geometrical calculations, using as much as possible the sy mmetries to increase efficiency. Simplification procedures are also perform ed in every calculation.
